Definitely, engineering covers so many different areas and there are loads of different ways to get into it. I went to university but that doesn’t work for everyone. An apprenticeship will allow you to get important practical experience and you will get paid too!

Yes they’re a great route to get into the industry you want to be in without going to university first. A lot of engineers working in industry now have started out as apprentices and gotten degrees or higher education courses further on in their careers. Mine is over 5 years with day releases to college to get my B-Tec qualifications and gaining those same years as work experience.

Another bonus is getting paid a decent salary for your hard work and getting your qualifications without the student loan debt piling up.

I think it is good to think about getting some practical experience in any career, and also to think about how you want to learn the trade.

Some may want to go for the more practical route and do an apprenticeship but some may want the more theoretical route at university, you have to think about what is best for you.
That way you will enjoy it!
